Greater selection will come to that FM dial soon. KSFI, an easy listening station, will broadcast from FM 100 on your dial. The station management manage-ment says KSFI should be sending its signal into Park City within three weeks. And in case you aren't sure what your other choices are, here is a listing of the other stations, both of Salt Lake and local origin, that are available on the Quarry Mountain translator. Kl'ER, a public radio station" broadcasting from the University of Utah, comes into Park City on . FM 90.1. The station broadcasts news-related programs from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., classical music from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., more news from 4 :30 to 6 p.m., and jazz from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. On weekends the format is basically classical in the daytime, jazz at night. KPCW, of course, is the locally operated public station at 91.9 on the dial. During the daytime the format calls for 20 minutes of oldies each hour, along with 20 minutes of chart music. Local and or national news is updated every 15 minutes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. At 7 p.m. the format shifts to classical music until midnight, followed from midnight until 2 a.m. by rock. KPCW will be tracking complete albums in that midnight to 2 a.m. slot. Weekends are basically made up of specialized rock and jazz shows during the daytime hours, with classical at night. KCPX blasts current hits and rock 'n' roll 24 hours a day from FM 98.7. , KIjC'Y. with an adult contemporary contempo-rary format, booms out from FM 99.3 on the dial. KISN goes with Top 40 contemporary hit radio at FM 103.1. And sometime soon KSOP hopes to join that list. Greg Hilton of KSOP said the country station was denied approval to locate on the translator last year, and has since reapplied for a different frequency. He said the station will get word after Jan. 1 , |
