Photo-journalism at Kimball A photo-journalism workshop taught by photographer Russell Ogg will be held at the Kimball Art Center Aug. 15 through 26. The workshop will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will cover a variety of topics, including the handling of camera and film, lighting, composition for color and black and white photos, comparison of news photography, commercial and advertising photography and an introduction to video camera equipment. The cost of the course is $125 for noncredit and $145 for two hours credit through the University of Utah's Division of Continuing Con-tinuing Education. For further information call 649-8882. Appointments are available for morning, afternoon and evening Examinations are performed by a nurse practitioner Services offered include: physical exam, PAP tests counseling coun-seling and education, VD screening, pregnancy testing and contraceptive supplies. (811) Disaster aid deadline Utah residents in declared counties who wish to apply for the Individual and Family Grant Program, Temporary Housing or a disaster loan from the Small Business Administration Ad-ministration (SBA) must do so before August 2, 1983. In many cases, residents who wish to be considered for the grant program must apply for and be rejected from the SBA first. Therefore, it is important to plan ahead and not wait until un-til the last minute to apply for all the programs. The deadline for applying for assistance from the Farmers Home Administration is December 20, 1983 for Wasatch and Summit Counties. Call the local Job Service for deadline for applying for Disaster Unemployment Assistance. (728) New Post Office hours In order to provide more convenient service, the Park City Post Office will be changing hours for window services beginning August 1. The new Post Office hours for window services will be : . 9 a.m. - 5 : 30 p.m. , Monday - Friday. 10 a.m. -1 p.m., Saturday only. The hours for our box lobby will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Post Office will remain closed on Sundays and holidays. Dispatch times for all classes of mail, including Express, will be changed from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The dispatch on Saturday will be changed from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (84) Volunteer for Art Festival Park City residents interested in participating in the volunteer volun-teer program should call the Art Festival office at 649-8882 and reserve a one- to three-hour shift. Volunteers help the visual artists set up and take down booths, assist artists and visitors throughout the festival, and help staff the rest station at the Memorial Building. Volunteers should attend an orientation orien-tation meeting at noon or 5 p.m. oh Thursday, August 4 at the Kimball Art Center. The ChamberBureau's Prospectors will coordinate the volunteer program. (84) Summit County Fair Park City area residents are urged to attend the events and to enter the many traditional competitions in the Summit County Fair, August 13-19. The entry deadline for artwork to be judged at the fair is Wednesday, August 17. Horticulture entries must be in place by Thursday, August 18 and flowers will be accepted all day August 18. Baked goods must be entered by 9 a.m., August 17 as must home canning exhibits. (811) Utah Opera Co. needs kids The Utah Opera Company is looking for children who are interested in auditioning for the Children's Chorus of Puccini's Puc-cini's "Tosca" to be presented in January 1984. The children must be between the ages of 9 and 15. General Director Glade Peterson also will be looking for a young boy to be cast in the role of Amahl from the traditional Christmas opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" performed annually by the Utah Opera Company. (728) Herpes volunteers needed Volunteers are needed for a University of Utah Medical Center study on the treatment of genital herpes. The research team is studying the use of the drug interferon as treatment treat-ment for the first episode of genital herpes. Volunteers will receive injections of interferon every other day for 14 days on an outpatient basis. The substance is an investigational drug, but tests show it is well tolerated by humans. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Volunteers should call 581-8625 or 581-6791 during business hours. Volunteers wanted The Park City Family Counseling Institute, a nonprofit human service agency for Summit and Wasatch counties, is seeking volunteers to work a couple of hours a week on social research projects or to perofrm light secretarial services.
