Show Loaded questions? Editor: We attended the Winter Olympics meeting last week and came away with a different impression than what we have seen reported in the Record and the Tribune. Admittedly, we went to the meeting L opposed to having the Games in Utah, and left with the same I conviction. Although the meeting appeared to be conducted with objectivity, the questions asked of the audience were impossible to simply answer yes or no to: Do you want the Winter Olympics held in Utah? Instead, the n question was: If the Games were II held in Utah would you prefer II scenario a, b or c? When almost II everyone had responded to one of II these selections, the last question II was something like "or none of the above." By this time the respondents had run out of choices and only a few of us die-hards raised our hands. , , If the committee was really as impartial as advertised, why did they only ask loaded questions? Maybe, in fact, the audience wd$ pro-Olympics. But until we can give some straight answers to some straight questions you won't convince us. Sincerely, Lynn and Bob Anderson |
