Show Utah State University forum to explore the lore of the land The ninth annual Fife Folklore Conference will be held June 10 through 14 on the Utah State University campus in Logan. Designed for people interested in folklore and culture, the conference will provide an excellent forum for personal interaction between the participants and the distinguished faculty that includes nationally-recognized nationally-recognized academic and public folklorists. Topics for the conference will include family folklore, the lore of occupational, religious and ethnic groups, as well as the study of narrative traditions and material culture. Special emphasis will be given to folklore in public education and its use by librarians, local historians and history or English teachers. Those who are interested in integrating folklore into their own programs are encouraged to attend the conference. The Utah Folklife Center will award a limited number of scholarships on the basis of a letter explaining the applicant's reasons for wanting to attend or his or her strategies for carrying conference information back to local communities. Three hours of English or history credit may be earned for attending the conference.
