Show i Z3 Cops arrest two in pop machine caper Park City police officers say they caught a couple of would-be vending machine thieves June 10 as they attempted to empty a soft drink machine at a Park Avenue gas station. According to the police blotter, the officers arrested Larry D. Taylor, 65 E. Sunset Ave., Salt Lake City, and Terry Stewart, 2511 E. 3300 South, Salt Lake City, at Butko's Chevron. Police said they observed the pair breaking into the soft drink machine. The pair had allegedly taken $12 in coins from the machine. In addition, officers said they found $109 in quarters in Stewart's car, Just up the street, Elva Mahoney reported that two video games had been broken into the same evening at the Park Avenue Norge Village laundromat. The thieves got away with an undetermined amount of money. Taylor and Stewart have not been charged in that crime. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. On June 10, John La Marre called police to report that several firearms belonging to his recently deceased brother had turned up in a Salt Lake City pawn shop. Apparently, the guns were pawned by a friend of his brother's to whom the firearms were merely loaned, the report states. Police are continuing to investigate the matter. Following the June 10 Howard Jones concert at ParkWest, a report was called to the Park City Police Department from the Park Avenue " 7-Eleven store. According to the call, a fight was in progress at the store. Police officers arrived to find that one of the store's windows had been broken. Witnesses said one man involved in the fight pushed the other suspect through the window. The two fled the scene. No value was listed on the window. Danny Hebdon called Park City police June 11 from Park City Accommodations to report a theft. According to his report, two male suspects in a silver Datsun got away with two gasoline containers. Listed as missing is one five-gallon container contain-er and one 12-gallon container. They are valued at $20. The missing gasoline is worth $5. ' Mike Hennessy called police on June 6 to report the theft of a bicycle. The bike was last seen in the carport of Hennessy's Woodside Avenue residence. It is described as a Huffy Pro Thunder dirt bike. It is yellow and blue in color. The bike is worth $120. And on June 6, Ifeiy C. Johnson reported the burglary of his father's house on Morning Star Drive. According to the report, the younger Johnson went to his father's residence to check on things while the senior Johnson is out of town. Johnson found the house burglarized of $1,400 worth of goods. A broken window was found in the master bedroom. In addition, this week the Park City Police Department made two " DUI arrests. |
