Show Kimball names officers The Kimball Art Center is looking ahead at the new year with a balance sheet in the black and with a new slate of officers on the board of directors, said Art Center Director Diane Balaban. Linda Smith was elected as the new chairman of the board at the recent meeting of the KAC membership, Balaban said. "Linda is a past president of the Junior League so she has experience handling a board. I think she will do a wonderful job," Balaban said. Harry Reed replaces Marilyn Modling as treasurer and Dick Beck will continue as president, she added. A decision was also made to trim the board membership from 32 to 21 members. "The goal is to have a smaller but more involved group. The bigger board was just too unwieldy," she added. Even though membership was reduced, four new names were added to the board. Jan Wilking, Phil Jones, Jossy Shea and Dick Wilde have joined the Kimball Art Center ranks. "The former officers and the board have been unbelievably supportive and now I am pleased that they want to be even more active. One of their plans is to act as gate keepers at this year's art festival," Balaban said. |
