Show Gty Of ficials Meet, Explore Mutual Goals Members of, the City .Council and Planning Commission met jointly last Wednesday in a special session to identify problems, establish mutual goals, and to set a course towards greater cooperation between the municipal agencies. Also present was City Manager Arlene Loble and members of the city's planning staff. . The two groups identified communication problems as the greatest menace to more effective Park City government. As . a solution to the problem, both groups vowed to strive for increased communication " between themselves and their respective bodies. They suggested that more joint sessions be held in. the future to gain diversified input on special problems requiring detailed consideration ano planning." Planning Commissioners told Councilmen of the need to view future development on a broad scale rather than by individual projects as they are proposed. Planners wanted Council's cooperation in creating an inventory of the "fiscal and physical constraints to development". By that they meant a list of the present and future capacities of the Fire Department, school district, water and sewer systems, Police Department, storm drain network, etc. Council agreed to the invaluability of the inventory and pledged to begin compiling the data. More similar joint sessions are expected to follow. |
