Show Historical Society Assembles Old Park City Photographs The newly established Historical Society office -located in the dusty dungeon below City Hall - looks forward to displaying historic photographic reproductions recently framed through the efforts of Park City Senior Citizens. Responding to a call for volunteers from Society President, Tika Beard, Mr. and Mrs Williams, Wil-liams, and Mr. Don Peterson, Peter-son, cleaned and assembled frames for 40 reproductions of Park City Historic sites. Other members of the senior citizen organization are identifying iden-tifying the location, date, and prople in each photo. Through the efforts of these volunteers the visitor to the office-museum will better appreciate the growth and development which has impacted Park City's commercial com-mercial and residential areas. Most of the members of the Senior Citizen Organization Organiza-tion are long time residents of Park City and have personally participated in the events which provide such a colorful history. Their knowledge and enthusiasm is the catalyst behind the Historical Society 1981 objectives. objec-tives. Individuals within the senior citizen population are volunteering to construct museum displays, catalog . photos and slides, record oral histories, and staff the newly established office. In a recent interview Tika Beard expressed that "the Historical Society is grateful to the long term resident of Park City for hisher contribution contri-bution to the town's past, present and future, and specifically for their recent efforts in completing the framing project. It is through this interest that the Historical Society Museum will emerge." |
