Show Art Center Calls For Quilts i A call for entries has been announced by the Salt Lake Art Center for "Quilts!", an exhibition of historic and contemporary quilts to be displayed at the Salt Lake Art Center from August 14 through October 4. All entries must be made in person at the Salt Lake Art Ci e 20 Soul! 1 v.,n ; k ' ''v. on either Friday, July 24 or aaiumay, jury 25 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Twenty historic quilts have been selectd for exhibition ; from public and private collections. Approximately 20 more quilts by contemporary Utahns will be selected by jurors Sandi Fox. noted quiltmaker, teacher curator and author, and Allen Dodworth, former director of the Salt Lake Art Center. All entries must conform to the generally accepted definition of the quilt as a functional item. Work must be quilted, but all techniques and methods of construction are acceptable. Entrants are limited to three entires. Quilts over three years old should not be submitted. The entry fee is $5, which covers a maximum of three entries. A catalog of old and new quilts will be published through the support of KUTV Television, Salt Lake City, Utah. All entrants are invited to an opening reception at the Salt Lake Art Center Friday, August 14. No awards will be given.
