Show - i . SUBJECT: WARNING EXERCISE WARNEX 81-1 MARCH 25, 1981 The first 1981 Regional attact Warning Exercise (WARNEX 81-1) will be held on March 25, 1981 at 09:35 hours Mountain Standard Time. This exercise will consist of only the attack warning portion, activated by the National Warning Center in NORAD Headquarters, Head-quarters, Colorado Springs, Colo.. Purpose of the exercise is to test the warning capability in all FEMA Region VIII States, including Summit County Warning Plan and alerting procedures. THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THIS WILL ONLY BE AN EXERCISE. EX-ERCISE. When the attack warning signal is sounded there will be a 3 to 5 minutes wavering sound on the siren tmi"5erics of short blasts. The ATTACK WARNING SIGNAL means that an actual enemy attack against the United States has been detected, and that protective action should be taken immediately. The warning on March 25 is a practice exercise. You should review with your family what steps you would take if it was an actual attack.
