Show Oregon Mime Troupe Comes Silently to KAC Stage Saturday The nationally known and entirely unique Oregon Mime Theatre comes soundlessly to the Kimball Art Center in Park City to present to family audiences an evening of magic, suspense, laughter and entertainment, Saturday, Sat-urday, November 12 at 8 p.m. "Something is created during the silence that is unexplainable in words," says Dutch-born Francisco Reynders, founding director of the company. "But don't expect the burlesque pantomime seen at the circus." The company's three actors take the audience on a cautious mountain climb, a thrilling ride with a man trapped on a conveyor belt, and a soaring flight with a majestic eagle, to name a few of the dramatic mime performances. In short, the mime company escorts the audience through many emotional experiences, not the least is laughter and fun, and "all without the assistance of sound effects, elaborate costumes or props," Reynders adds. Reynders is joined by two other mime actors, Elizabeth Page and Burl Ross, to complete the nationally touring Oregon Mime Theatre, now in its fourth full season. Together, they have performed for family audiences from Jacksonville, Florida, to crowded Alaskan igloos. The performance is sponsored by the Kimball Art Center in cooperation with the Utah Rural Arts Consortium, a program of the Utah State Division of Fine Arts, and the National Endowment Endow-ment for the Arts. Ticket prices are: adults, $2; children, $1.50. For information and reservations, call the Kimball Art Center, 649-8882. - " I ' ' ' is J; ..:. " ,-f '" - ' - "- r ' 5 ',.
