Alvarez, Lewis, Shellenberger Sworn In to Citv Council Duties Park City's three new City Council members were officially offi-cially sworn into office Monday at a brief ceremony conducted in Mayor Jack Green's office at City Hall. Approximately a doze"h spectators gather at City Hall around noon to witness the official act conducted by Judge Kilby. "You are representative of the multitudes of honest I citizens who have stepped forward to serve your fellow citizens." said Judge Kilby to Councilmen Elect Helen Alvarez. Tina Lewis and Tom Shellenberger as a prelude to the oaths of office. " It is time to begin a new era of changing times and to reaffirm re-affirm past values and traditions." continued the Judge. "Go forth into the future with confidence to meet the challenge of the 80s." ; With that. Judge Kilby administered the oath of office as it was being administered to newly elected elect-ed public servants across the state of Utah. "Do you swear to support and defend the constitution of the United States and the State of Utah and to discharge the duties of office with fidelity?" Judge Kilby asked the three Councilmen who all naturally responded "I do." A round ot nanasnakes followed the ceremony and new Councilman Tina Lewis, performing her first official act. brought in a cake for Mayor Jack Green who was celebrating his 64th year that day. Surprised by the acknowledgement ack-nowledgement the Mayor bent over the cake and said, "I make a public wish that the next four years are profitable for the City and that we will experience progress and a little more happiness." Concluding the ceremonies. ceremon-ies. Councilman Tom Shellenberger Shel-lenberger told The Record he was looking forward to the next four years. "I think we have a good team and can accomplish a lot," he said.
