Show VP Mondale Expected at Celebrity Invitational Celebrity Invitational will culminate cul-minate with a pig and lamb roast outdoors at trails head. Ms. Bower said the cross country tour will hopefully attract many locals as the cost has been purposely kept reasonable again, she reitterating her desire for community com-munity participation. The three day gala should prove memorable, and if the Vice President shows up his name can be added to the following impressive list of well knowns who have agreed to participate; Tom Barkaw, host of NBC's Today Show, Wally Schirra, astranaut of recent lunar distinc tion, Ed Ames, who attended last year's event, and Tom Kennedy also on hand last year. Others scheduled to attend are; Sam Melville, star of The Rookies. Bob Fuller known for his role on Emergency; and of course Jill St. John who is the co sponsor. Other guests include David Hobbs, former race car driver and CBS sports announcer, Kate Jackson one of Charlies Lovely Angles, and Abby Dalton, the well known actress. Other appearances are tenna-tive tenna-tive as of this week and will be announced as their participation becomes verified. While plans for the Second Annual Jill St. John Paul ' Masson Celebrity Inviational are soldifying this week, it is becoming increasingly apparent that among the stars and other well-knowns will be Vice President Presi-dent Walter Mondale. Bonnie Bower, coordinating this year's fund raising event for the U.S. Ski Team said that the Vice President has yet to comfirm an aooearance memorable alpine races scheduled schedul-ed to begin at 10:30 on a yet undiscolsed run at the Park City Resort. Later, prizes and trophies will be awarded the more aggresive teams at a gala banquet which is open to the public for a donation of $100 per person or $150 per couple. Dancing will follow as will presumably, performances by the many talented and impressive individuals on hand. The next day, Tuesday, most celebrities and U.S. Team members mem-bers will guide a cross country tour ski for "rank Beginners"-which Beginners"-which for a comparatively reasonable rea-sonable donation of $10 is also open to the public. The tour and but rated the possibility of his participation as "good!" She indicated that official word regarding the Vice President's plans is expected sometime later this week. With or without the auspicious appearance of Mr. Mondale, the Celebrity Invitational should-prove should-prove a glittering affair rivaling last year's highly successful event in its worthiness of cause and spirit. Not only will the Invitational raise thousands of badly needed and well deserved dollars for our skiing ambassadors it will also provide several lively days for Park City lending an air of national prominance Over 50 businessmen and industrialists across America will pay $500 for three days of skiing and socializing with celebrities and members of the U.S. Ski Team. The price includes lodging, lodg-ing, meals, special activities and is tax deductable. The money raised by the event will be turned over to the Team and go towards financing summer training sessions sess-ions , to improve the competitive skills of our National skiers. The April wing ding scheduled schedul-ed for the 10th through 12th attempts to involve the entire community according to Ms. Bower and will begin with an Easter Parade down Main Street Sunday afternoon. The Chamber of Commerce and Amanda Peterson its zealous director are apparently handling most of the details for the parade which could be the only Easter promanade in Utah. Although flowered frocks and white bucks are not the most traditional attire for early April in Park City, Amanda is organizing a rigorous bonnett making compaign among merchants mer-chants and students and a desparate call has gone out for lilacs, either real or otherwise. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the parade. Monday, fifteen, 7 man teams comprising of a celebrity, a member of the U.S. Ski Team and five guests will compete in dual slalom elimination races which highlite the three day affair.
