Show Ked Banjo Nets B-Ball Championship Last Thursday night, the Park City Recreation Departments Commercial Basketball League Championship games were held. Shaking off a cold first quarter in which they didn't score a field goal, the Red Banjo held the opposing Flyers scoreless in the second period and went on to win the League Championship with a 50 to 29 victory. Red Banjo had three men in double figures with Bill Hart getting 15, Craig Kunkel 14, and Al Siellato 11. Chuck Folkerth, the League's Most Valuable Player, led the Flyers with 10 points. The Claim jumper, utilizing their superior height advantage and a balanced scoring attack, led by Rusty Davidson's 29 points, easily handled the Memorial Building Superstars 86 to 40 to take 3rd place. The Superstars were led by Mike Weaver's 14 points. In action earlier in the week. Treasure Mountain Inn captured 5th place with a 44 to 33 victory over Park West. Final Standings: 1st, Red Banjo; 2nd Flyers; 3rd Claim jumper; 4th Memorial Bldg, Superstars; 5th Treasure Mountain Inn; 6th Park West. |
