Show Local Racers Seeded at Jr. National Meet n 1 1 X f I v f. Eccles Jr., both from Park City, place, respectively, seventh and eighth in boy's pee wee class. Michelle Buck made ' a fine showing in girl's pee wee, placing second, with Nancy Donney taking fourth. Both girls race for Park City. Dorry Donner and Cindy Bland finished respectively, sixth and seventh, in girl's novice racing, with Mattias Alvarez taking sixth in the boy's class of that division. J.B. Anderson, Witney Burr and Randy Kennard represented Park City well in boy's novice racing. Local racers did very well in intermediate classes, with Neil Mallen and Brian Hollander coming in first and third, respectively. Marco Alvarez, Brian Stewart and Erick Hays also placed well in the event. In Girl's intermediate racing, LeiLani Soares took an impressive first place, she was the only Park City skier entered When the four day intermoun-tain intermoun-tain expert races concluded here Saturday . Four Park City Ski Club racers had earned births at the Junior National races March 20 28 in Alyeska, Alaska. Three additional Park City racers were also selected to make the trip as alternates. Junior National competition is internationally sanctioned event drawing the top junior amateur racers in America who vie for points in hopes of being eventually event-ually selected for the U.S. Ski Team. Qualifying from Park City in the men's division were John Donner and Mark Brower. Selected Select-ed as alternates were Brad Marden and Bart Thomas. Park City woman skiers off to the Nationals are Roxanne Toly and Karri Hays, with Susie Robinson chosen as alternate. Because of poor snow conditions condi-tions across the country this winter, intermountain ski clubs held 75 percent fewer competitions, competi-tions, which added great weight to last week's races in Park City. Many of the 27 racers from intermountain, selected to go to Alaska, were chosen on the basis of last week's performance alone. Doni Waldman, formerly with the Park City Club and now racing for Sun Valley, made an impressive showing, winning the woman's slalom event on both Wednesday and Thursday. Alana Soares, Susie Ribinson, Cindy Cork, Caren McConaughy and Carolyn Wilson, representing Park City, placed well in the slalom races. Steve Banous, racing for Snowbird won the men's slalom races on both days, with John Bonner from Park City placing, respectively, sixth and fourth. Park City's Karri Hays finished an impressive third in Friday's Karri Hays giant slalom, which was won by ' Ms. Maricich of Sun Valley. Jody Robinson and Roxanne Toly also j placed well in that event. John Donner from Park City took sixth in the mens GS slightly, ahead of Steve Urie, Jordan Swenson, Rip Grifith, Bart Roxanne Toly Thomas, Steve Evans, Brad Marden, Louie Leatham, Scott Beck and Robert Roe, other Park City racers.
