Show City Ladies Work Hard on the Field In case you haven't noticed by now, Park City has a female line crew at the football games. The seven lady crew was organized by Board of Education secretary, Elaine Jarvis. Mrs. Jarvis said, at first, the crew was somewhat leary, but that now everything seems to be coming together. Dr. Jack Dozier, principal of Park City High School, took the ladies out one day and gave them a few lessons on how to work the chains during the games. "I like it," Elaine Jarvis said, but added, "We about froze to death at the last game (against North Summit)." She said the referees have been very cooperative and helpful and that the new crew has not received any "hassling" from the crowds. "The men in the community said we've done great," smiled Mrs. Jarvis. The lady line crew is made up of Sharon Nunez, Mirna Dozier, Anne Prince, Jesse Johnson, Jeanean Bair, Pat Reed, and Elaine Jarvis. They worked together for the first time during the Miners game against Dugway, September 23. And they will no doubt be out on the field again this week when Park City plays South Summit. "It's kind of fun," said Elaine. And the new female line cres in Park City is also doing an admirable job. |
