Show Art Center Schedules Quilt Exhibit Nov. 1 The Kimball Art Center today announced plans for an upcoming Quilt Exhibit that will open November 1st and run through November 25th. This juried exhibit is open to quilters throughout the intermountain west. A $100 award for "Best in Show" will be given during the exhibit, with internationally known quilter Ms. Sandi Fox of Los Angeles judging the show. "We expect that this quilt exhibit will appeal to quilters of all ages," said David Fernandez, Director of the Kimball Art Center. "In addition to selecting the quilts for the exhibit, Ms. Fox will select the quilt to receive the $100 award." Entries will be accepted from October 18th through 28th at the Kimball Art Center; Entry fees for the quilts are $5 for the first entry, $2 for each additional entry. Sale of the quilts will be left to the descretion of the quilter. In conjunction with the exhibit, Ms. Fox will conduct a 5 day intensive Patch Workshop for beginning through advanced students October 31 through November 4, 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. at the Kimball Art Center. Pieced work, applique, press work and quilting will be covered. University Univer-sity of Utah credit is available for ' this class through the Division of Continuing Education. Fees: non credit, $60; 3 credits, $84.50. In addition, those atudents who have previously studied with Ms. Fox can elect to take a limited 3 day workshop (Nov. 1-3) non credit, $45; 2 credits. $68.50.
