Show Mid School Carnival Celebrates Halloween Carl Winters Middle School will usher in Halloween in a big way this Monday. There are many events, raffles, and activities planned for the spooky night. Tina Lewis, one of the main organizers for Halloween at the middle school, said there will be various booths set up by each grade and also a free ski pass given away for any child between 7 and 18 years old. The ski pass is being donated by Park City Ski Corporation (home of Jupiter Bowl). Halloween night begins at 5:30 with tickets on sale at the door for 10 cents each. The tickets are good for any of the booths. And there will be carnival booths, a "Star Wars" Booth, as well as a "dunk the teacher" booth, where teachers in all three schools will be subject for drunking in water. The super spook alley will feature a haunted house and a mad scientist laboratory which will "take place in the Chemistry lab. Beginning at 5:30, a giant Halloween Food Fair will be in" the gymnasium. Food for the fair is being donated by local restaurants. And at 6, the carnival booths will open throughout through-out the school. A jar of pennies will be raffled off with the closest bid going to the winner. Kids in grades K through 8 will run the different booths at the middle school. The 2nd grade will be in charge of "Dunk the teacher" booth with the 8th grade operating "Star Wars" booth. To cap off the full evening of events, a movie called "The Thing" will begin at 8 p.m. "The Thing" is a classic horror film made in the 1950's, and will be shown in the middle school auditorium. Everyone is invited to Halloween Hallo-ween night at the middle school. Tin Lewis said that all proceeds go toward buying new books for the libraries at Marsac Elementary Elemen-tary School as well as Winters Middle School. |
