Show OF Newspapers Turned in by Third Graders A pile of newspapers that reached to the ceiling with a second pile on the way up - this was the end result of only two weeks collecting by Miss Dodie Allgire's third grade class at Marsac School. Every single student had helped and this isn't the end of their effortsnor : is it the beginning. Bruce Bair, Alison Bingham, Sherry Boyle, Debbie Broadhead, Linda Byer, Scott Chantry, Shayne Cooper, Marty Cowin, David Eley, Shawn Evans, Carol Gillett, Fred Gil-lett, Gil-lett, Jeff LaGrange, Louie Leatham, Sandra Mackley, Patricia Pat-ricia Montgomery, Barney Murnin, Denise Norton, Terry Price, Seaton Prince, Ronald Rutter, Roxanne Toly, Mark Uriarte and Kathy Williams all are cooperating. A while ago these boys and girls joined the Earth Patrol, a nation-wide group which is striving to curb pollution and is open to any elementary school child. The recycling of papers helps to save trees, and at the same time helps to curb air pollution because burning is curtailed. Already this third grade class has sent eight loads of papers to the recycling plant in Salt Lake City and they're still working diligently. Miss Allgire, a 1970 graduate grad-uate of the University of Utah, is to be congratulated for her fine job in stimulating these young people; urging them to do something constructive. They are certain to grow into worthwhile worth-while citizens. |
