Show Chateau flpres Offers Swim Pool-Junior Pool-Junior Juniors Enjoy First Prom "Splash In" is the new feature fea-ture for the Pep Club this month. Because the marching season is over for the year and the Juniors have taken the gym over for the prom, Mrs. Severance's Pep Club class for P.E. has been cordially invited by Ed and Susan Hosenfeld to use their swimming pool at the Chateau Apres Lodge. Better weather is being hoped for so that a few rays of sun can be enjoyed, along with the joy of swimming, Reporter, Dorothy McComb. -PCHS-Taking third place in a Region Re-gion Meet means being able to participate in the State Tournament. Tourna-ment. On May 7, Park High's Golf Team, coached by Dr. Mark Simmons, competed in the Region Re-gion Five Golf meet against Morgan, St. Joseph, Wasatch, St. Francis and Dugway. And Park City didn't fare too badly by taking third place which qualified qual-ified them for the State Golf Tournament. Bill Mawhinney was low with 85 strokes. Cal Florence followed fol-lowed with 91 strokes. Rob Adamson with 93 strokes, and John Reese with 96 strokes to give Park High a team total of 365 strokes. Morgan took first place in the golf meet with a total of 345 strokes and St. Joseph took second sec-ond with a total of 360 strokes. Cingratulations to Park High's Golf Team Reporter, Jeanne Marcellin. -PCHS- Bright lights, music, nice atmosphere, at-mosphere, and plenty of refreshments re-freshments were all part of the annual Junior-Junior Prom. The sixth, seventh, and eighth graders were present at their first prom Saturday evening. The advisors who helped organize or-ganize the big event were Miss Sheryl Ridd, Mrs. Prudence Jones, and Mr. Ed Severance. The kids danced to the "Spirits Fury" who played such numbers as "Proud Mary", "Yesterday," "Yellow River", and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain." Participation was great! A dance contest was held and Mr. Severance was the judge. The winners were as follows: Kathy Hyde, first place; Joe Sullivan, second place; and Pat Paragillo, third place. The eighth grade girls made cakes to be raffled off as prizes to lucky winners. Mrs. Jones had this comment, "Quite a few parents were present. pres-ent. This is a tradition that should be carried on. The par- , ticiation of all the students was the best I've ever seen." A special thanks to the Junior Class for the use of their gym; it gave the kids a grown-up feeling. Reporter, Sandy McDonald. Mc-Donald. Susanne Evans and Marion Dearden, seniors at PCHS, participated par-ticipated in the Dairy Princess Contest at Kamas, Utah on May 8. They were all interviewed by the judges and were asked several questions. They then modeled in street clothes and formals. Susanne was chosen to be the 3rd place attendant to the Dairy Princess. She had to present an advertisement for "Cottage Cheese" for the judges which she presented excellently. The girls received a long stemmed red rose and a bead purse forparticipating.Susanne also received a trophy. Congratulations, Con-gratulations, Susanne! Reporter, Re-porter, Marian Dearden. |
