Show wyiion!! YOUR SHOPPING BASKET has been climbing skyward these past 10 years. At least this is true of the prices of most of the things that go into it. In fact, the overall cost of living has -increased over 30 percent. On the other hand, the increase in the cost of electricity is very small. UP&L's residential customers pay on the average less than 1 percent more for each kilowatt hour they use. It's been eight years since our last rate increase in Utah and seven years since we raised our rates in Idaho and Wyoming. Chances are you're using about the same amount of groceries as 10 years ago. But far, far more electricity. This is why your bill is probably higher. If you don't believe you're using more power today, count up the number of new electric appliances you have now that didn't even exist in 1961. We've got power to spare in the area we serve, and we've done better than most in offsetting inflation with more efficient operations. Euery to Electricity Does K2oro For You UTAH POWER & LIGHT CO. |
