OF BANKERS naw ag 29 general acon of delegates from all the state bank associations in the country to take action against the new york clearing house banks practice of charging tor the collection ot out of town checks is suggested toy the executive committee ot the connecticut bankers association which has issued a circular letter to that effect the latter proposes a system of state or district clearing houses in which each district or state should appoint a point to which all collections on banks in that should bo sent and to which all tanks in that district should immediately pay in par funds their own checks when presented by the clearing bouse bank or institution at that central point the appointment of certain designated cities to be recognized as deposit and clearing house banks and recognized as such by the banks of ithe country la another suggestion made in tho circular for consideration at this convention
