Lockhead, is much more serious than was at flnst supposed. sup-posed. A careful examination of Mr. Jensen's Jen-sen's Injuries, which were thought to be trivial, developed the fact that one cf his upper left ribs was broken ami that the two next lower ribs were probably dislocated, and gave the attending at-tending physiciau grounds to believe that there might be some Internal Injuries. In-juries. Mr. Jensen was thrown from the machine as it was whirled through tho air lu a double somersault, and when he recovered consciousness ho found himself underneath, with one of the rear wheels resting on hid chest. He half lifted the machine from his body, and squirmed from beneath tho car, and in so doing strained the muscles ami ligaments U his arm. which at the present time is so ooro that the victim cau not use R. It was thought at the time that his injuries were but slight bruises and scratches, but yesterday he suifered so lrom pniiis in the chest when breathing heavily or coughing that u physician was asked to examine him thoroughly. The examination developed devel-oped the Injuries already stated. This morning Mr. Jensen will be bandaged tightly across the chest In older that the dislocated and broken ribs may mend, and to allow the con-tusion.- to heal. The possibility of pneumonia setting in. as suggested by a Salt Lake paper, Is not considered by Mr. Jensen's physician. Mr. Angus Lockhead, brother of the man killed In the accident, called on Mr. Jensen yesterday morning and requested permission to see him. Mr, Iyjckhcad was Insistent, In-sistent, however, and was escorted to the sick room. The meeting between the two friends was quite affecting. Mr. Lockhead had difiiculty in restraining restrain-ing his tears, as he shook the hand of the driver of the car in which his brother was killed, and he hastened to assure Mr. Jens.-n that he considered consid-ered the mk'hap as purely accidental. acciden-tal. It is announced that the funeral services of Mr. Lockhead will be held at the Fifth ward meeting house at 2 o'clock on Suuday next. |
