Gardner Gard-ner had been missing troiu his homo In Redbank since Annual 2:! and na clue to explain his disappearance was ' discovered until yesterday when his body' was found in a clump of bushes six miles from town, close to the tracks 'A the railroad of which he was Ihe managing head. I The only clew to the mystery or his death was offered by the testimony of a woman living near the place, where the body was found. She told the police po-lice that she encountered two strauij-ers strauij-ers who were Idling near the spot on the day of Gardner's disappearance, j Their actions, she said, were such as to arouse her suspicions, but she said nothing about them to anyone until the discovery of the body yesterday recalled them to her mind. She was .able to give the police only meagre descriptions of their appearance, however. how-ever. i I |
