Chief of Police Browning and Chief of Detectives Pender stated last evening even-ing that In accepting the resignation of Patrolman lladlock the department depart-ment would be losing one of Its best men and that It was with sincere ro-gret ro-gret that they complied with his request re-quest to be relieved from duty. HADLQCK JOINS SHERIFFS FORCE Patrolman Oren lladlock, one of the oldest men in point of servico on the local police force, has been appointed ap-pointed a deputy In the office of the sheriff of Weber county. Mr. Hadlock tendered his resignation to the chief of police yesterday and will begin his new duties this evening at tho county Jail as night deputy, the necessity of keeping two deputies on duty in Ogden Og-den canyon, since the opening of the resorts there, having created a place for an additional man at tho office. Mr. Hadlock leaves the police department de-partment with an excellent record, both as an officer and as a man. Previous Pre-vious to his servico for the city, ho railroaded for fifteen year6, holding various important positions on the Ogden division of the Union Pacific, including that of check clerk and assistant baggage master.
