Show ACCIDENTS MY Cleaning of Bedsprings Proves to be a Serious Ser-ious Affair Long Beach, Cal.. July 19. Four accidents ac-cidents resulted from the attempt of Sirs. Walter Slartin to clean led-sprlngs led-sprlngs with gasoline yesterday. Sirs. Slartin took the springs to the front porch, sprinkled the gasoline over them, and applied a match. The leaping leap-ing llames severely burned her neck and hands. Floyd Martin, a sor.. heard hi3 mother's screams, and, seeing the llames, turned in alarms ot fire A blind woman, who occupies the room from which the springs were taken, went to her bed to lay down and fell through to the floor, receiv-ing receiv-ing a blow on the back of the head which rendered her unconscious for an hour. Sliss Orva Slartin, the 16-year-old daughter, ran several blocks to summon sum-mon her father, and on the way back fell in a fit of hysterics. : Sliss Lulu Long.- a sister of Mrs. Slartin, after rendering assistance to both the injured women, fell In a faint as she was ascending a flight of ttalrs. |
