Show LABORITES j They Have Won Two New Seats in Parliament London, Dec, 16 One gain each for 1 the Liberals and Unionists Is the outcome out-come of yesterday's elections, the results re-sults of which were announced today. The respective total3 as now toown are: Coalitionists, 377; Unionists, 261. Tho composite government majority is formed as follows: Uberals, 260; Irish Nationalists, 65; Independent Nationalists, 10; Labor La-bor members. -12. The Laborites Is the only party thus far to show an increased representation repre-sentation In the new parliament Already Al-ready they have secured two seats In addition to those held in the previous house of commons. Only 29 seats are to be filled. Tho Coalitionists now have a majority of 113, as against a total majority In the last parliament of 121. The two constituencies which changed co'or yesterday are the I?ek division of Staffordshire, where It, Tearce won back for the Liberals the scat lost last January, and the High Peak division of Derbyshire, which S. Hill Wood brought back to the Unionist Union-ist ranks. O. Partington, who was defeated in High Peak, is junior lord of the treasury, treas-ury, and Is the second member of the government to be unseated In the present elections. William O'Brien, leader of the Independent Inde-pendent Nationalists, scored a success suc-cess In the South division of Cork county, whero the Independent Nationalist Na-tionalist candidate. Walsh, turned out E. B. Barry , who had represented that constituency in the Interest of John Redmond for fifteen years. The Orangemen of Ulster county, who recently started a fund for the purpose of buying arms to fight a home rule government, are now widely wide-ly circulating the manual of drill for regular forces. |
