Show KHIS CLUB TO BUILD HOME Action Is Taken at Meeting for the Erection of Summer Lodge in Dry Fork. Road Is Fixed. The Bingham Canyon Kiwanis Club will have a summer lodge in Dry Fork Canyon it was announced on Thursday evening of last week after the matter had been discussed by its members at the regular meeting held at Masonic hall. That the vote to build the lodge for a summer meeting place is a move in .the right direction is made manifest by the many uses to which this new building may be adopted. After the building is completed on the site known as Picnic Flat, the Boy Scouts and Beehive Girls will also al-so have access to the building, thus giving the youngsters of this district one of the most beautiful spots in the state for encampments. During the past week, the road has been widened and graded from the Heaston ranch to Picnic Flat, it now being accessible by auto, thus eliminating elim-inating the half mile walk to the proposed pro-posed site of the summer home. It developed during the meeting of last Thursday evening that water would be piped from a creek further up the canyon to the new home, giving giv-ing an ample supply for picnics, suppers, sup-pers, etc. There was no definite arrangement made as to the construction of the new home, although it is the consensus consen-sus of opinion that logs will be used with a wide veranda surrounding the entire building. It was announced that a first class maple floor would be used thus enabling the club to give dances during the summer months after meetings. The Bingham Canyon Kiwanis club is to be congratulated upon its step forward in community service. |
