Show AMERICAN LEAGUE READY TO ADOPT ITS SCHEDULE Chicago. Fob. 11 The American league will adopt a 131 game schedule at its meeting, which begins tomorrow, tomor-row, regardless of tho action of tbe National league In New York, accord Ing to a statement of President B. B. Johnson today. '"We will si.lck to the obi length of tho schedule during 1910," said Mr. Johnson. Wo will adopt 154 games, whether the National league decides upon 151 or ICS games. The old schedule sched-ule has worked well for several years and I seo no reason why It should not be retained. Tho season Is loug enough and will have enough double-headers double-headers without adding any more games to tho list." The American lcagno meeting will begin tomorrow, but the schedule will not bo adopted until Wednesday According to an agreement between the two major leagues, the National will announce Its schedule one day before the other circuit Thero will be no argument on Ihe American league dates, as the schedule sched-ule already drawn would bo adopted unanimously according to the present Indications. The principal business to come before the meeting tomorrow will be tho adoption of tho teu-ycar areemeat. This present agreement, under which the American league exists, will expire in November of thi3 year The American league was In existence exist-ence at the beginning of 10no, but the agreement was not adopted until later In the year. Apparently there will be no objections to the continuance of tho circuit for another decade, as all the clubs are well satisfied with present conditions. According to !
