Show KEENER NOW BEFORE THE COURT II. II. Keener, charged with violation viola-tion of the quarantine ordinance, was arraigned before the court this morning morn-ing and ho entered a plea of not guilty. In passing upon the matter, the court stated that he desired the city attorney to handle the matter and, he not being present, the defendant de-fendant would be placed under a bond of $1."0, pending arrangements for the hearing. The case likely will bo called for trial within the next few days. Mr. Keener furnished the required bond. The Keener family waa released from quarantine "yesterday, Mrs, Keener having been afflicted with smallpox. The complaint alleges that Mr. Keener, know ing his wife to bo afflicted af-flicted "with smallpox, permitted diverse di-verse persons to come to his place of residence where Mrs. Keener was confined with the disease, and also permitted members of the family-10 associate with other people, thereby exposing them to the disease. The time of the exposure is alleged to have beon between the 20th and tho 20th of January. |
