A shutdown will mean that within three or four more days, If It goes Into effect, the smelters at Anaconda Ana-conda and Great Falls will be closed, with also the Immediate suspension of operations by the Clark reduction works In the event that the engineers go out there and stay out. The Dutte Miners' union will discuss the situation at Its regular meeting tomorrow to-morrow night. Officers of the union today declared that the Western Federation could and would famish engineers to operato the mlne9, and If they are able to do so, a long shut down will be avoided. The miners say they will bring engineers engi-neers Into Butte If necessary, and that many of the members of the International In-ternational union will stand by Engl neers union No. 83 and refuse to go out |
