Show WEBER COUNTY'S HEALTH RECORD. "Better Health," the official circular of the Health League of Logan, contains a comparative table of the death record of the different dif-ferent counties of the State, as follows: In January, Cache County reported 6 cases of typhoid fever, Salt Lake 6, Utah 5, and Weber 2, though Cache county is fourth in population. popu-lation. In February Cache reported 6, Utah 26, and Weber 3. In March Cache county reported 6 cases, Salt Lake 1, Utah 2, and Weber 1. Of pneumonia, in January, Caohe reported 28 cases, Salt Lake 20, Utah 26, and Weber 3. In February, Caohe reported 20 cases, -Salt Lake 9, Utah 15 and ' Weber 1. The Logan Republican, commenting on the statistics, says : Cache County suffers by such comparisons. We do not need to make any platitudes upon health to arouse our thoughtful readers. The above figures are platitudinous in a far better way. What we want to say is more to the point. We want an accounting here in Logan from that person or persons responsible for local conditions. According to "Better Health," every official body has issued its proper bulletins to stir up the necessary machinery for cleaner yards, alleys and streets. Evidently Weber county is looked upon as a model of sanitation, sanita-tion, but even in this county and city there is much to be accomplished accom-plished before the people can rest satisfied with health conditions. One of the best moves so far made i9 that of systematizing the cleaning up of back yards. With the garbage ordinance enforced. Ogden should show to even better advantage than in the comparative statement published in the Logan paper. |
