FIRST SPAN OF THE NEW VIADUCT COMPLETED AND TWO DERRICKS KEPT BUSY. Spectators Treated to a Small Accident Acci-dent In Which Wlrea Are Ripped From the Poles. The first span of the new ' viaduct has been completed and two derricks are now employed in extending the structure eastward across the yards. The work is being pushed vigorously by Contractor Dundas ami operation are being watched with great interest by a large crowd of people at alt hours of tho day. This morning the large sweeping crane on one of the derricks ripped telegraph, telephone and electric wires off from one of the big poles on the Twenty-fourth street crossing, and there was a wild slampode of spectators spec-tators who rushed in every direction to avoid contact with the falling wires, somo of which wore hot, but no one was injurod. and tho wires were subsequently sub-sequently placed in a position where they could do no harm.
