Show ADJOURNMENT OF THE UTAH LEGISLATURE. The Utah legislature has adjourned j sine dio. What a relief! or all the legislative sessions since Utah became 1 a slate, none has equaled thl& one for aslnlnity. The stato Las been disturbed dis-turbed Avlth its freakish measures and fctupid blunderlngs, and after, all, not-vltliBtanding not-vltliBtanding tho threats and the blustering, blus-tering, no legislation of importance hat been enacted, and the things lett undone stand out as far moro important import-ant than that which was accomplished. From almost tho opening day to the moment of tho motion for the adjournment to a day without date, tt.o law-making body made an impotent effort at regulating or prohibiting the liquor traffic and wound up with a farcical demonstration of Incompetency. Incompeten-cy. There was an absence of courage to do or not to do, with' the natural result re-sult that tho session was marked by irresolution and evasion, and long before be-fore the last day thla halting, hesitat- j ing. dallying attitude so aroused tho tlisgu6t of all elements that the hope 1 was freely expressed that the legisla- I tors would cease their parleying and so home. |
