Show DELEGATES GO TO SALT LAKE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF UTAH STATE FEDERATION. Opened In Capital This Morning Mat-f ters of Importance to Be Thoroughly Thor-oughly Threshed Out. A large number of delegates went to Salt Lake today to represent tho 1 n bbr' unions of the city in the annual convention of the State Federation ot Labor.which opened in the capital this r.idrnlng. The delegates from tho Trades and Labor Assembly of Ogden are as follows: William M. Piggott, R. Mi ; Clark. W. D. Watscra. C.- U. Deavuchaxnp and Fred R. Turner. Aside from these delegates one from each ot the labor unions of the city will also sttend. The convention promises to be ono of considerable importance to the labor la-bor unions of the state. The first business busi-ness - to-be .. attended to will be the election of the officers of the State Federation, for the ensuing year. Another matter of moment, that, will -likely be discussed at considerable-length and definitely acted upon, will' f bo that of demanding greater 'effort 'ef-fort on the part of the members of the' various unions In lending -their efforts toward controlling patronage for the Arms that are supporting the unions and complying with their requests re-quests and demands in the matter or wages and in the employment of union workmen. It Is said by some of the , union men that of late there has been i considerable laxity on the part ot union men In this regard, and that the question will undoubtedly be threshed out on the floor of the convention, con-vention, to the end that the principle may hereafter bo moro strictly. . ad hered to anl put rato practice. - |
