Show RICH ORE UNCOVERED IX RAWHIDE MINES W. P. Wedell received additional P'.'ws today from Ravhlde, Nevada, in regard to several of the mining properties prop-erties owned in that district by Ogden investors. Several strikes have been made recently which have fired the Imaginations of those who have ventured ven-tured their dollars. "The Marigold drifting gang broke Into. a vein of picture rock the other uignr, sam mr. weaen. wnicn win r.iake a lot of them sit up and take r.otice. They are running a drirt In that mine now from the 130-foot level, going in a northerly direction from the vein which was struck a few weeks ago while sinking a shaft. The new vein shows up some 7 feet, of values and has high grade stringers shot throughout the vein. "An unusual feature of this strike Is that the larger part of the pay rock comes out of a 4-inch streak or picture pic-ture ore In the very center or the vein proper. Generally it Is found on one f the walls. The screenings from Ihe seven feet of ore assayed $82 to the ton, while the streaks of gold will run as high as a dollar to the pound. "The Rawhlders are making a big shout about another strike which they claim assays thousands. This was made at the Murray mine and so sec-njt sec-njt are the owners regarding the extent ex-tent of their discovery that the mine is carefully guarded, only ' personal friends of the management being al-. al-. 'lowed to inspect the vein In question. The strike was made In a cross-cut about 15 feet out from the 200-root level, the vein being five feet In width and containing gold In fabulous amount throughout the entire ledge. "The Murray.owners state that coldblooded cold-blooded assays from the vein gae returns re-turns of from $3,000 to $S0,UU0 per ton. This, of course, sounds pretty big, but Mining Engineer Jack Flyan or the Rawhide district said, himself, that tho strike would - surprise the world in a few days. He said It was tbe most marvelous ledge of gold-bearing rock he had ever seen and beat even the famous Mohawk mine for richness. Further work on the ledge develops the fact that the same shows a decided tendency to gain in width, the last report stating that It was Tour iuches wider than at the time of the previous report. |
