Show COLORED PEOPLE OF OGDEN ARE TO HAVE A CHURCH As the result of the visit to this city of Rev. J. C, C. Owens or Denver, Colo., who delivered an address to the "Ogden Christian League," aireliglous society, which has accomplished good work since Its organization last August, Aug-ust, ihe first definite steps toward es-tablLViing es-tablLViing a denominational church for the colored people of Ogden were taken by naming the following to aci as a board of church trustees: Mr. Geo. W. Eubantes, Mrs. Geo. W. Eubantes, Mrs. W. J. Brltton, Mr. J. R. Lemme, Mrs. J. R. Lemme, Mrs. C. M. Earnset. Mrs. Alice B. Nesblt, Mis. J. H. Perry, Mr. James Thomp-; Thomp-; son, Mr. W. II. Owens and Mr. Edgar J. Dorsey. The board of trustees is to conduct a Methodist mission, every Sunday afternoon, af-ternoon, at the hall of the Elks, No. 245S Washington avenue. Rev. Owens Is the presiding elder of all church work of the A. M. E. church, in the district of Colorado. Utah. Wyoming and Nebraska, and the results of his earnest efforts of church extension In the west are being be-ing felt. The new mission will be named In memory of the late Bishop J. H. Em-bry Em-bry of the A. M. E. church. |
