Show ONE BIG RAIL UNION DESIRED Committee to Start Work on Project Voted At Chicago Meeting CHICAGO. Dec. 9 (By The Associated Asso-ciated Press.) An International amal-gamation amal-gamation committee of 60 members, saving for Its purpose the amalgamation amalgama-tion of the 16 standard organizations of railway employes Into one body, i was voted here today at a conference of 500 delegations claiming ot represent repre-sent between Go. 000 and 70,000 locals in the sixteen unions The membership of the committee, as well as Its officers, will bo selected select-ed at the final meeting of tomorrow. The meeting today was under the direction di-rection of the interstate railroad shop-crafts shop-crafts legislative committee which has bCen .working since September as the national amalgamation committee among railroad employes. TWO METHODS PROPOSED. The program as adopted at tho conference con-ference calls for an attempt through the executive heads of the 16 unions to call an international conference to take up the amalgamation question. Failing In this: the program calls for tho institution from the ranks of each organization of referendum movements to amend existing by-laws and constitutions consti-tutions to permit Joining the amalgamated amalgam-ated plan.
