Peril Per-il haps more so than the frock or wrap one wears, does the hat attract attention at these card parties, because convention writes it in the book of social etiquette that the hat be not removed. The hat I am showing tb-Ls weefc with the paradise at back is equally appropriate ap-propriate for the afternoon affair and for the restaurant chapeau of evening. Its fabric is hair-lace with the scallop design outlined in sequins of black jet. The front rolls back from the face ever so little, and tho back takes its cue from the front. Two sprays of the paradise swing themselves diagonally across the back, forming a delightful line. In the ostrich trimmed hat of circe silk, the line is designed for the woman whose features are not sharp. The turban is covered in circe silk, or what some modistes like to term patent leather silk. The abrupt line of the brim accentuates the charming lustre of the new, highly polished silk. The angle at which the ostrich band is placed is the final note of artistry that gives this model ita charm. Once again coque feathers are featured in my new "Winter model of velvet with its spray of coque falling gracefully over one shoulder. The crown of this hat is squared for novelty, its brim rolled back from the edge ever so glightly, and the coque spray emerging from beneath a flat moire bow at back. The somewhat smaller and more tailored hat I have selected for this group seems almost like a breath of Springtime. Yet it in quite in vogue for the mid-Winter group even though the material be of satin. The bright hue, the beaded surface that sparkles in the sunshine or lamplight and the trkn lines of this semi-sports model were indeed borrowed from Nature's own beauty the Whiter skies and the sparkling icicles that cling to Winter bar rennea8 in the city where fashion is inspired . j I 1 v yllr |
