Show I TRY YOUTH FOR MURDER OF DETECTIVE SERGEANT WASHINGTON, June IS. Witnesses Wit-nesses from New England offered additional ad-ditional testimony at the ri:il of John McHcnry of New London, Conn., charged with the murder of Detective Sergeant James E. Armstrong while attempting to rob a garage here. Efforts Ef-forts were made by tho government to show that the youth was sane, testimony testi-mony that McHcnry while in a prison in Malno tried to secure a parole saying say-ing he wished to join the navy and , fight for his country. The prisoner expressed the wish, Dr. Whiten said, to get into .some branch of military service where there would be plenty , of action. James F. Walsh and James Crook, who roomed In the samo houso with McHonry ln Pawtuckct, R. I., both testified that McHcnry never Jiad shown any trace of insanity. Tho court adjourned until Monday ! when the trial will be resumod. |
