Emil Hansen, landscape gardener of the Utah Agricultural Agri-cultural college, has just returned to I tho institution from southorn Utah, where ho wont to assist in tho planting plant-ing of several municipal parks and auto camping grounds. "While away he oversaw tho planting of the new city park at Cedar City, plans for which were made by Mr. Hansen. Acting upon his ad-ice, Cedar City officials of-ficials decided to Introduce a street parking system, providing for CO-foot streets, lined with shado trees andi parked on ether side. The' grounds at the branch agricultural college were also laid out foT future planting. ' At St. George, Mr. .Hansen met with the commercial club relative to the laying out of a large amphitheater, amphithea-ter, for which a natural setting exists near the town. Sugar Loat mountain, which overlooks the town, presents a beautiful natural site for an amphitheater, amphi-theater, says Mr. Hansen, while the top of the hill "can be used as a band stand. It Is the plan to place steps leading to the summit and then rail m the flat top of the elevation. nn |
