Show FARM AND HOME BILL OF VETERANS IS FAVORED WASHINGTON, June 5- The senate sen-ate public lands committee by unanimous unan-imous vote ordered a favorable report I today of tho Borah bill designed to aid world war veterans In buying of farms and suburban homes and appropriating ap-propriating $300,000,000 to be spent for this purpose during tho next ton 1 years. Not more than $50,000,000 could be expended annually. The bill will uot be considered by; the senate until tho December session ses-sion according to Chairman Reed Smoot. The measure provides for a national nation-al veterans' settlement board of threo members appointed by the president which would make loans to veterans for tho purchase of farms or suburban subur-ban homes. The maximum loan would be 13,000. Veterans also would be able under the bill to acquire reclaimed land. 00 |
