Show ' (NATION-WIDE SHOPMEN STRIKE CALLED TODAY CHICAGO. Aug l Nation-wide strike of railroad shopmen was called ;(oclay by the Federated Shopmen's 'f Union. It was set for 10 o'clock and shortly after that hour messages received re-ceived from union headquarters here by John D. Saunders, secretary of the organization told of walkouts at Atlanta. At-lanta. Ga.. Jacksonville, Fla., Boston. Philadelphia, Denver and other places. In the Chicago district more than 100,-000 100,-000 men are directly affected, accord ling to union officials, and they claimed that all the men had dropped their I tools.
