During the two years in which the bureau has been operated in Ogden! many hundreds of men and women have been placed In jobs through orders or-ders that came to it. It was believed! by many citizens to be filling a great' need, but when conjrress failed to make 1 tne necessary appropriation for carrying carry-ing on the work it was realized that! the federal employment offices in all i , parts of the United States were doomed to be closed. The federal employment bureau has1 i been the dream of labor leaders for many years, and when it was finally i inaugurated U a war measure Jt was believed that a great step forward had I been taken and that the bureau would remain as a heritage of tbe war This has been Ihe sentiment in labor cir- ,cles, and laboring men in this city I ;are generally expressing regret over!
