Show Soldiers Afflicted With Nerv- ous Trembling Treated by lH Electric Current Appli- AMSTERDAM, Nov. 9. German j newspapers announce that the army H physicians have discovered a success- jH ful method of curing the nervous af- i IH diction so frequent among disabled sol- H diers, which causes a constant tremb- H ling of the whole or part of the body. H Dr. Ernest Bayer, head of the nerve ( H hospital at Roderbirken, has outlined I a method of electrical treatment which, IH it is claimed, often effects a complete ' cure in a few days,, and is almost in- ! H variably effective within a period of ' j three weeks. The newspapers describe ' his method 'as follows: "By the application of a gentle elec- trie current which causes no pain what- ever, good results have been obtained JH in a few minutes or at the longest two and a half hours. A course of treat- , jjH ment Is required after this, which does I not last more than two or three weeks, and in light cases is finished in a few jH days. New attacks may occur due to jH excitement or nerve ' strain, but are "?H easily cured." , jH |
