Show I FIGHTING IN THE HOLY LAND Down in the Holy Land the British are driving the Turks Before them and by Christmas Jerusalem should be in possession of the troops that started from the Suez canal early this year. Beersheba was captured a week ago and then Gaza was taken. Gaza is a coaBt town, Beersheba is just south of Hebron, a short distance west of the Dead Sea, and "Hebron is only a few miles south of Ecthlehem. The fighting from now on will be on ground which is' held sacred by Christian Chris-tian people, but which the Turks have occupied for centuries. North of Gaza on the coast is Lyd-da Lyd-da and Jappa. From Beersheba, which is near the south end of tho Dead Sea. to -Nazareth, which is west of the Sea of Galilee, Gal-ilee, is about 100 miles. On the north end of tho Dead Sea is Jericho, and connecting the two bodies of water is tho Jordan river. The Salt Lake valley, val-ley, in topography, bears some resemblance re-semblance to the Holy Land. If Utah lake and the Jordan river were north of Great Salt Lake' the geography would be very similar. oo |
