Show M. S. BROWNING GOES EAST TO ASSIST 1 IE II OF Alii II I AERIAL FORCES M. S. Browning of Ogden left today for Now York, where ho will bo on-gaged on-gaged some time on business affairs. Mr. Browning only returned from the east a few days ago. He will also be at Hartford, Conn., for some time. The gun factory of the Colt company is located nt Hartford nnd Mr. Browning will bo associated with his brother, John M, Browning, at this point on business connected with tho manufacture by the Colt company of Browning arms. At present manufacture manu-facture of the now Browning machine gun for aerial and Infantry service is being considered. J. M. Browning has been in the eastern city over six months, the manufacture of his guns and work with the war department of the government gov-ernment necessitating his constant at- I tondance there. M. S. Browning has 1 been conferring with manufacturers of the east with regard to the equipment of new plants for the manufacture of the machine gun invented by J. M. Browning. A large number of these guns have been ordered by the gov- ernment and will be used extensively ' in the war by American forces. The. aerial gun especially is said to be of distinct valuo, as it is lighter than other guns in use, with speed and range also in its favor. Mr. Browning said this morning that tho east has thoroughly settled down to a long, hard campaign of effort ef-fort to win the war and that in all circles the belief is general that the war will last several years. Business Is thriving, but somewhat uncertain,' due to the unsettled conditions. |
