Show oo BEAVER BOY DIES ON DUTY IN FRANCE I BEAVER, Oct. 21 Sergeant Wallace , Ipson, son of N. P. Ipson, of the state 1 land board, died in France of pneumonia pneumo-nia September 22, according to a teje-Wgram teje-Wgram received here by his parents jfrom the war department. When war was declared Wallace Ipson, .though not quite 18 years old, volunteered his .services, joined the marine corps and left Beaver within a few weeks. Ho was transferred to Cuba and Porto Por-to Rica later and while ther received recognition for his splendid marksmanship, marksman-ship, holding a rifle record of 274. He was one of 100 chosen for sniping duty. He was returned to the marine station at Quantico, Va., where he was placed under French and Scotch officers offi-cers for the study of shipping and map work,"" and from there sailed to France. Mr. and Mrs. Ipson have two other sons in the service at this time, Powell Ipson, the eldest son, being with the American forces in France. Sergeant Ipson was a member of G company, Second battalion, of the noted Thirteenth Thir-teenth regiment. |
