Show Mill HOT NEWS NORTH OGDEN, Oct. 21- Information Informa-tion has Just been received by Mrs. B. P. Blaylock of North Ogden of the death at Manassa, Colorado, Oct. 10, 191S' of Spanish influenza, of her brother, bro-ther, Joseph Land. He was a son of Enos C. Land and' Almira Keith Land and was born in i Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dec. 9, 1S52, and In early boyhood moved with his parents par-ents to the state of Mississippi, where he grew to manhood and married Oct. 17, 1872. Susan C, Mills, daughter of Robert Mills and Elizabeth Blaylock. Gibson of North Ogdon Dec. 13, 1880 and Jan. 2, 1881 was sol a part as associate to B. F. Blaylock in the presidency of the Lodi, Miss., branch and while in that labor was privileged to baptize a number of his neighbors into tho faith. Many of the traveling elders from Utah laboring in the -Mississippi conference will remember his many kindnesses to them, most notably, not-ably, John W. Gibson of North Ogden, Henry Bartholomew now of Bountiful. Elam W. McBride of Grantsville, William Wil-liam Thomson, then of Granite, Salt Lake county and Wm. C. Hanks of Midway, Wasatch county. After his arrival at Manassu, Colorado, six oth-j er children were born, before the death of his wife there, Juno 26, 1906, one of whom, Charles Albert is now serving serv-ing in the U. S, army. At the organization organi-zation of the first Sunday School in Manassa he was one of the number constituting the superlntendency. In 1906 he made a trip to Utah, visiting with his sister, Mrs. Annie E. Funeral services for Florence Barker Bar-ker were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. under very solemn conditions, condi-tions, having to be hold in the open on the cemetery grounds and the citizens citi-zens advised not to assemble very close together. MfA nf iho Mooniisnrl and her untiring devotion and love to her family, "I Know That My Redeemer Re-deemer Lives" was rendered by William Wil-liam Pickett. Bishop Barker spoke of the kind and loving disposition manifest mani-fest in the school life of Florence, while under his tuition. A solo, "Face to Face" was sung by William Pickett Bishop's Counsellors David E. Randall and George E. Brown bore testimony of the sterling character of the deceased de-ceased and appealed earnestly to all to Imitate her noble example that as sure a reward may come to them as to her. A duet, "Some Time, Some Where" was rendered as a closing number and the benediction was pronounced pro-nounced by Elder William A. Montgomery. Mont-gomery. The influenza with which the deceased de-ceased fell a victim in the Dee hospital hospi-tal 17th Instant, seems to be some what subsiding in the town, though there is reported a number of light cases yet in a number of families.
