THE RED GROSS PEOPLE The patriotic response being mado by the people of Ogdcn City and Weber Web-er county to the calls by the Red Cross shop is one of the excellent and encouraging en-couraging features of that community-shopping community-shopping center. Tho proceeds from the shop are used t6 keep a steady stream of relief going to the wounded soldiers on the battle front and to furnish relief and aid to the thousands of men, women wom-en and children in the districts ravaged ravag-ed by the Hun and his allies. The Red Cross, too, is rurnishing food and clothing to the hundreds' of American fighting boys who have fallen in the hands of the Germans as prisoners of war. Mrs. C. S. Murphy, manager of the shop, said today that the cash register and the roller top desk which were greatly desired, have been donated to the shop. She said a telephone had been installed. The number is 504 and I those having articles of any description descrip-tion should advise the shop and the contributions will be sent for by the Motor corps. The tea room is to serve luncheon daily between the hours of 11:30 and 2. o'clock and tea from 3 to 5 p. m. Tho luncheon is homo cooked and served by the young ladies of the Red Cross. The charge will be 50 cents per person. per-son. The art department has asked that those having fish bowls, old vases, stone crocks, etc., bring them in and have them decorated. The department will receivj; pictures of all kinds, also pieces of silk, satin, ribbons, cretonnes and velvets, which will be made over into fancy work. The junior, or childrens' department, is eager to receive any articles, such as hats, bonnets and coats. |
